Diese englischsprachige, vornehmlich im Ausland zu verteilende Ausgabe ergänzt das zum Jahresende 2009 erschienene deutschsprachige CPM-Forum "Auslandseinsätze der Bundeswehr", das aufgrund der großen Nachfrage schon nahezu vergriffen ist.
This CPM Forum German Bundeswehr Operations Abroad (in English) will primarily be distributed abroad and is supposed to complement the German version, published at the end of 2009, which has virtually been sold out.
Since 1960 the Bundeswehr has participated in several humanitarian missions abroad. In the early 1990s Bundeswehr missions abroad have almost become the rule, ranging from fighting against international terrorism via peace-keeping missions to humanitarian assignments - just remember the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia. Currently, about 7,000 soldiers are on missions abroad, more than 4,400 in Afghanistan alone. There are also operations on the Balkan, in the Middle East and Africa. Any assignment of German Armed Forces abroad, will be decided by the German Bundestag pursuant to the "Parliamentary Participation Act" of 16 March 2005. The CPM Forum "Bundeswehr Operations Abroad" will be released in close cooperation with the in 2008 established Operations Staff of the MoD in Berlin under the command of General Volker Wieker, the Chief of Staff Bundeswehr. A summary will highlight for the first time all legal, military, human and physical aspects associated with missions abroad.Bundesminister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg
