Das diesjährige CPM-Forum "Luftwaffe 2011", das - wie seit 2002 - wieder in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Führungsstab der Luftwaffe im BMVg erarbeitet wird, gibt - wie in jedem Jahr - einen umfassenden Überblick über die derzeitigen Aufgaben, Strukturen und Fähigkeiten der deutschen Luftstreitkräfte. Auch wenn die neue Struktur der Bundeswehr und damit der Luftwaffe noch nicht endgültig festliegt, so befinden sich die Streitkräfte doch in einem ständigen Anpassungsprozess an die aktuellen Herausforderungen. Die Weiterentwicklung der Luftwaffe ist ein wichtiges Thema dieser Ausgabe - weitere sind die militärische Nutzung des Weltraums und die mit dem Einsatz unbemannter Fluggeräte - sogen. UAVs - zusammenhängenden Fragen sowie der Lufttransport. Dabei reicht sie Spanne vom neuen Europäischen Lufttransportkommando EATC über die Luftbetankung bis hin zu künftigen schweren Transporthubschraubern. Hinzu kommen zahlreiche weitere von Fachleuten geschriebene Beiträge, die über aktuelle Entwicklungen und Trends berichten und so ein lebendiges, in die Zukunft gerichtetes Bild der Luftwaffe bieten. Die Luftwaffe wird dieses englischsprachige CPM-Forum wieder für die eigene Öffentlichkeitsarbeit im In- und Ausland nutzen - u.a. auf dem Aerosalon in Le Bourget.Challenges - not only arising from current operations and from foreseeable security risks or potential threats for Germany and NATO but also significant changes, caused by the anticipated structural reform of the Bundeswehr - will significantly determine orientation and armament of the Air Force. Requirements, expectations and the status associated with these changes will be highlighted in this issue. This year's CPM Forum "Luftwaffe 2011", which again (since 2002) is being developed in close cooperation with the Air Staff in the MoD, will give a comprehensive overview of the Luftwaffe. The further development of the Air Force, the military use of outer space, the future integration of unmanned aircraft in air traffic or the new European air transport command EATC are parts of the many topics that will be covered in this CPM-Forum. Along with numerous contributions of military and industrial experts on current developments and trends, "Luftwaffe 2011" will give a vivid and future oriented picture of the German Air Force. This CPM-Forum will again be used by the Luftwaffe as a public relations means and will also be handed out to selected individuals at the Paris Air Show
